Wrapped in Courage Campaign

What an honour to stand with the Ontario Association of Interval & Transition Houses and Nisa Foundation on the grand staircase at Queen’s Park in support of the Wrapped in Courage campaign- Ontario’s longest-running effort to end gender-based violence.

Our government is committed to making real change, not just raising awareness, some of the key initiatives:

-Investing $26.7 million over 2 years to expand shelter spaces for survivors and strengthen the Family Court support Worker program.

-Launching Ontario-stands our comprehensive action plan focused on prevention, early intervention, culturally responsive supports and safer transition for survivors.

-Committing $1.4 billion over four years into gender-based violence services- funding for crisis lines, counselling, transitional housing

-Supporting community-led culturally led safe programs through a Call for Proposals, backed by $100 million to support innovative violence- prevention work
