Visit with Minister Parsa

Alongside Minister Michael Parsa, Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, we had the pleasure of visiting the Sudbury YWCA Genevra House, where we met with Executive Director Marlene Gorman. The shelter’s exceptional services and programs were effectively communicated during the tour, highlighting notable community collaborations. We commend Marlene and her staff for their outstanding efforts.

Our next visit was to The Sudbury Counselling Centre, led by Executive Director Abdullah Dundalk. His team outlined key programs offered by this multi-service, bilingual community hub, which serves over 1,800 individuals annually. As a proud member of Family Service Ontario, the Centre partners with organizations such as the Children’s Aid Society of Sudbury and Manitoulin and Genevra House Sudbury, while maintaining alliances with various committees and coalitions, including CEVAW, CSSF, MCCSS, DVCAC, VWAP, and FSO. The Centre’s cost-effective early intervention services not only provide vital support but also alleviate pressures on hospitals.
