Yesterday I was joined by MPP George Pirie to announce that a construction manager contract has been awarded, marking the next steps in the construction of a new two-lane swing bridge for Manitoulin Island.
The Little Current Swing Bridge has connected Manitoulin Island to the mainland 110 years and today, we’re taking the next big step toward its replacement. Our government is moving forward with a new two‑lane swing bridge to ensure reliable, year‑round access for residents, businesses and visitors, while supporting good‑paying local jobs across the region.
