$71,800 OTF Grant from the Ontario Government Gives Supports Manitouwadge Public Library

Manitouwadge, ON – On Thursday, MPP Bill Rosenberg met with the team at the Township of Manitouwadge and the Manitouwadge Public Library to learn more about the $71,800 Capital grant from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) that helped fund the library’s modernization. The completed project created a more accessible and welcoming space, improving programming opportunities, access to technology, and services for residents of all ages.

“Congratulations to the Township of Manitouwadge on receiving a 12-month Capital Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation for the Public Library Modernization Project. This funding will help address important accessibility needs while enhancing the user experience through upgraded flooring and furnishings. These improvements will create a more welcoming, comfortable, and inclusive space for everyone who uses the library. It is wonderful to see investment in a community hub that serves residents and visitors alike. I hope these enhancements ensure that all members of the community can easily access, enjoy, and benefit from this valued public space for years to come.” MPP Bill Rosenberg.

The OTF grant helped fund a $120,000 renovation project that modernized the library through electrical upgrades, new flooring, updated shelving, a redesigned circulation area, and an expanded children’s space. The improvements have enhanced accessibility, increased programming flexibility, improved access to technology, and created a more welcoming environment for library users.

The Manitouwadge Public Library is a vital community hub that connects residents to information, technology, programs, and one another. The renovated space will help the library continue to meet the changing needs of the community while providing a welcoming and accessible place for people of all ages.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Ontario government with a mission to build healthy and vibrant communities across the province. In 2025-26, OTF invested nearly $107M into 746 community projects. Projects aim to enhance economic well-being, foster more active lifestyles, support child and youth development, provide spaces for people to come together and connect, and create a more sustainable environment.
