The steel industry in Ontario is facing an unprecedented time in our province. This is why we are fighting to protect a company that is truly a Canadian institution.

I am pleased to stand with MPP Will Bouma, PA to the Premier and PA to the Minister of Economic Development and also the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Jobs and Families, Ministry of Federal Economic Development of Northern Ontario, to make the exciting announcement of $400 million in federal funding and $100 million in provincial loans to directly support Algoma Steel in moving forward with its fight on US steel tariffs, and diversifying to meet future challenges.
