Today we recognize the Municipality of Killarney’s Fire Protection Grant 2025.
The Fire Protection Grant was doubled in 2025 to give firefighters across the province the tools they need to stay safe and effectively respond to emergencies.
I have visited communities in the vast riding of Algoma-Manitoulin and seen first hand how departments have utilized this funding to best serve their area. I was disappointed to not visit every community, but I hope to visit your area in the near future to see your new equipment firsthand.

- Nairn & Hyman – PPE washers, PPE dryer/gloves/hoods/bunker gear/EV nozzle kit/lithium ion extinguishers $32,063.81
- Northeastern Manitoulin & Islands – bunker gear $16,000.00
- Prince – PFA free bunker gear $19,380.00
- Sables – Spanish Rivers -bunker gear/hoods/replacement gear bags $16,000.00
- Spanish Town of – gas detector/flash hood/gloves/bunker gear $17,475.92

I look forward to bringing more good news later on in 2026 as the next round in funding commences.
